The Spiritual State Of Little Children

(Matt. 18:3,4; 19:14; Mk. 10:14, 15)

Although man, having been born in sin, is an object of God’s wrath until he becomes saved (Ps. 51:5; Rom. 3:23; Eph. 2:1‑3), guilt is not imputed on little children who cannot discern between good and evil.

They have no conscience/knowledge of the law, and without the law sin is not imputed (cp. Rom. 4:15; 5:13). And although little children also came into the world with sin‑nature, yet people have to die for their own sins  and not for those of others (cp. Ezk. 18:4,20). Little children are innocent.

This is the reason underlying Jesus’ statement A … of such is the kingdom of God (Matt. 18:3; 19:14; Mk. 10:15). But if these little children will grow up to know and serve the Lord, they should be brought to Him very early in life.
